At Paradise Media Productions, we use only the latest and greatest production equipment to help you turn your vision into a reality! Below is a snapshot of the hardware and software components that we use.

Cisco 3750 switches St. Maarten

Hardware Highlights:

  • Our equipment is networked by a cat 6 (1GB) network, the fastest in the industry!
  • We interlink with Apple’s renowned Xsan networking software.
  • When duplexing, or doubling the monitor space, our throughput can reach up to 2GB p/s and up to 10GB p/s via the Xsan system.
  • Our G5s, MacPros and PowerBooks run either dual core PowerPC processors or Intel DualCore processors. Both processors are fully compatible with all inhouse software types. We are adding currently 4 Mac Pro 8 core 3.0 Ghz "Clovertown" state-of-the-art 3 TB internal HD space with 16GB ram running Apple's finest Final Cut Studio 2 upgrade supporting a 128 multi channel view mode.
  • Our machines, including our MacBook Pro laptops, run Ratheon 1900 video cards or faster, as well as two 30” monitors in either Mirror or duplexing mode.
  • We capture digital sound in an output supporting up to 96mHz via digital fiber and we use any sound input via USB 2.0 or FireWire 400 and 800 (IE1394).

Our In-house Editing Bays and Support include:

  • Apple MacPro with 3Ghz, 2 dual core processors and 11Gig Ram!
  • Black Magic HDV Video Capturing Card to capture uncompressed 8 and 10bit video connected to a 3.5TB X-serve fiber channel raid.
  • Just added 4 "monster editing and capturing machines" 4 Mac Pro 8 core 3.0 Ghz "Clovertown" state-of-the-art 3 TB internal HD space with 16GB ram
  • The ability to capable up to 35 and 70mm film
  • Apple G5's PowerPC with 2Ghz, 2 processors and 2Gig.inerlinked via xSan software for live broadcasting and capturing/conversion of movie content
  • IMac 2Ghz 17" Intel dual core processor for storyboarding, scripting and story writing.
  • 17" MacBook Pro Intel Dual core 2.16Ghz processor to directly capture on-site, or fieldwork, video to a hard drive for rough cut editing and multi-Camera synchronization.

Final Cut Studio 2. Editing unleashed

Software Highlights:

  • Operation software: Mac OS X 10.4.9 that will soon be upgraded to Mac OS 10.5 Leopard with core animation.
  • Video: Final Cut Pro 2, including Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion 3 and Compressor 3
  • Shake 4.1 for 3D video animation, morphing and retouching
  • Adobe After Effects Pro
  • Adobe Web Premium Suite, for fast graphics integration and optimized web video output.
  • Most of our work is shot in HDV720p format. In NTSC this means 1280x720 pix resolution at 24fps in progressive scan.
  • Adobe Web Premium Graphics
  • We use Apple's proprietary QuickTime standard, including the new H.264 compression scheme that is twice as efficient as MPEG-2.
  • Our JVC GY H110 digital cameras and Canon XL2 and new Canon Ah1 can shoot regular DV in 720 by 486 pix interlaced 59.98 fps, as well as all settings in between.
  • Standard Definition output is done via H.264 QuickTime format, uncompressed 8 and 10 bit video via Betacam 2 format, and Red and Blue laser DVD burning.
  • We have an in-house DVD duplicator that handles 100 DVD per hour output, including direct labeling and DVD cover printing.
